Driver Safety Course Offered in Spanish

Western Nevada College will offer a new one-day Driver Authorization Card Exam Preparation Spanish class on Saturday, Feb. 22 and also on March 29. Each class meets 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the WNC Carson City campus, Reynolds Center Room 114. Cost is $50. Advance registration is required.

Driver Authorization Cards are available to Nevada residents who cannot meet the proof of identity requirements for a standard driver’s license or ID card. Applicants under age 18 must take the 30-hour New Driver Education class.

This non-credit Spanish driver safety course will review the knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes needed to drive safely. The course will cover general licensing requirements, Driver Authorization Card (DAC) information, some basic traffic laws, explanations for signs and signals, and defensive driving tips. The class is presented as a one-day, general information course and does not cover all the specific laws. It is based on information asked on the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicle written test.

Spanish language materials will be presented in class.
