Event Proceeds Benefit WNC Programs and Students

WNC Foundation Golf Tourney on June 25

The WNC Golf Classic fund-raiser is back again this year, marking the fourteenth year of the popular event. The WNC Foundation is accepting player registrations for the tournament, which is scheduled for a shotgun start at 9 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2012, at Thunder Canyon Private Golf and Country Club in Washoe Valley. Proceeds benefit Western Nevada College programs and students.

“The tournament has become a tradition with many golfers who return year after year," said WNC Director of Development Amy Ginder. “It’s a chance to give back to the community while having fun.”

Players will have a chance to win raffle prizes, as well as gifts for longest drive and closest to the pin. The grand prize is free golf every month for a year for a lucky foursome. A hole-in-one on the right par three earns $30,000 toward a new car or $10,000 in cash.

Participants will receive a continental breakfast, tee prizes, on-course refreshments, and an awards barbecue emceed by KRNV News 4 weekend anchor Bryan Samudio.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available and include the sponsor’s name on the event program, banners, event announcements and other promotional materials. Donations are also being sought for raffle items.

Entry fee is $700 for business teams and $125 for individual golfers. To sign up, sponsor or donate, call the WNC Foundation at 445-3240.
