Learn Welding Skills at WNC Fallon

Looking for additional job skills? Western Nevada College Fallon will offer a welding workshop on Tuesdays, May 8-July 10, from 6-8:40 p.m., in Sage Hall. Cost is $225.

Students will learn basic welding skills and safe welding practices in a shop environment, taught by Ray Hockemier. The class is not for college credit, but students at any level can sharpen their skills.

Welding techniques will include oxy-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing and shielded metal-arc welding. Students will also learn the multiple phases of equipment set-up and use.

"WNC is pleased to be offering welding skills improvement workshops on the Fallon campus,” said David Steiger, the college’s director of Economic Development and Continuing Education. “We look forward to offering a continuing series of welding programs."

WNC can provide American Welding Society certification to individuals who meet the qualifications. See the course instructor for specifics.
