Wildcats Work Their Way Into Top 20 Rankings

'Cats Now 15th in Perfect Game Poll

One of the best starts in Western Nevada College baseball team history has been recognized by several national poll services.

Western Nevada, which has an 11-5 overall record heading into the opening weekend of Scenic West Athletic Conference play, was ranked 15th this week by Perfect Game and 20th by the National Junior College Athletic Association.
The Wildcats were rated 18th in Perfect Game’s preseason poll and unranked in the NJCAA preseason top-20 poll.

Howard College of Big Spring, Texas, tops the Perfect Game poll with a 10-2 record. Walters State Community College of Morristown, Tenn., is No. 1 in the NJCAA poll with a 10-1 record.

SWAC members Salt Lake and Southern Nevada also received inclusion in the latest Perfect Game top-50 poll. Salt Lake (9-2) is ranked 19th while Southern Nevada (13-3) is 41st.

Collegiate Baseball rated WNC 14th in its preseason poll and is yet to release an in-season poll.
