At Western Nevada College, spring means that the walls of campus buildings become art galleries that are adorned with creative works in all shapes and sizes. The annual student exhibits fill all three galleries at the Carson City campus, spreads throughout the Fallon campus, and includes student and faculty creations from the Douglas campus and rural teaching centers.

Works are as diverse as the college's course offerings - from painting and drawing to multimedia art, electronic arts, printmaking, photography, sculpture and pottery.

According to Art Professor Sharon Tetly, close to 400 individual works of art were submitted for the Carson City campus exhibition, which runs through Friday, May 6. They will be judged by Truckee Meadows Community College art/design faculty members Nolan Preece and Ron Marsdan, with results announced at a public reception on Wednesday, April 20, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

At the Fallon campus, the college hosts a public reception and BBQ to open the show on Saturday, April 30, 1-3 p.m. The exhibit will continue through Friday, May 13.
