With much of the Wildcats softball team returning for the 2010-2011 season, Coach Leah Wentworth has a unique opportunity to start strong with a tenured team of athletes ready to earn some wins in the Scenic West Athletic Conference. Nonetheless, bringing new players into the ranks is Wentworth's focus this summer.

"I am looking for players with a great attitude and a desire to excel on the field and in the classroom," she said.

Carson High School grad Megan Hein signed earlier this spring, and six additional student athletes have committed to play for WNC.
Amanda Bohl: Outfield, Virginia City High School
Victoria Hynick: First base, Virginia City High School
Lacey Irwin: Third base, Spanish Springs High School
Sarah Cudahy: Outfield, Centennial High School, Las Vegas
Vivian Garcia: Outfield, Mission Bay High School, San Diego, Calif.
Molly Laughlin: Catcher/third base, Oakmont High School, Roseville, Calif.

Wentworth adds, "I am happy to be bringing in some local talent, and we are continuing to see interest throughout the West as well."
