NJCAA honors Sean Dwyer for leadership and sportsmanship.
Wildcat baseball player Sean Dwyer has been recognized by the National Junior College Athletic Association as a Leaders for Life Student-Athlete of the Week. The Leaders for Life program provides colleges with the resources to develop leadership skills and promote sportsmanship. The program honors student-athletes who represent their school and the community with integrity, respect and responsibility.
Dwyer, a catcher for Western, has recently completed his first year at WNC. He is studying Civil Engineering, earning a perfect 4.0 grade point average after the first semester and plans to graduate in spring 2011.
Off the field, Dwyer volunteers with the Special Olympics and is a mentor at a local elementary school. He is a member of the Farmer's State Bank Junior Board of Directors in his hometown, Missoula, Mont. and represents the baseball team as a member of the college's Intercollegiate Athletics Board.
