Wheelchair rugby players to speak at Marlette Hall, Cedar Building.
Wheelchair rugby players to speak at Marlette Hall, Cedar Building.

Two world-class athletes will speak about tenacity, fitness and fun - in a wheelchair, in spite of paralysis. Seth McBride and Sam Gloor know that being in a wheelchair doesn't necessarily mean inactivity. The rough and tumble world of Quad Rugby is the inspirational topic of discussion.

McBride is a member of the Portland Pounders rugby team, a 2008 Paralympian, and a member of the 2006 world champion team. Born in Juneau, Alaska, he is a graduate of the University of Oregon. Gloor was a 2004 bronze medalist in the Paralympics, a 2002 silver medal champion, and a three-time national champion who earned Best Newcomer award at the 1995 nationals.

The event helps bring attention to October as National Disability Awareness Month Admission is free and includes refreshments.
