Wins first game in series, 6-4

Wildcats Baseball Tops Salt Lake

Western Nevada College is one step closer to the Scenic West Athletic Conference championship with a 6-4 win over Salt Lake Community College Friday afternoon.

The Wildcats used a three-run third inning to pull ahead 4-2. Salt Lake tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the fifth before WNC countered with two in the bottom half of the inning.

Starter Josh Moody pitched 4.2 innings for the win, and Kramer Champlin finished the game in relief.

The four-game series continues Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at noon at John L. Harvey Field on campus. WNC holds first place in the SWAC by one game over College of Southern Nevada.
