'Cats win Doubleheader, Play Saturday at Noon

Baseball Team Heats Up at Home

The Wildcats baseball team enjoyed the comforts of its first home stand, beating Colorado Northwestern Community College 4-0 and 11-1. Freshman Jordan Lewis was the winning pitcher in the first contest, while sophomore Kyle Starratt went the distance in the second, which was called after the sixth inning on the 10-run lead rule.

The Wildcats had 10 hits in the second game, including a two-run homer by Lance Ray and a solo home run by Brian Barnett.

Coach D.J. Whittemore said the Wildcats pitching staff is also getting healthy and improving their conditioning, and will now benefit from more experience on the mound.

"Throw strikes and play defense," he said, and wins will follow.
