Baseball Team Splits with CSN

Wildcats Hold First Place in Conference

Western Nevada College's baseball team is on top of the Scenic West Athletic Conference after splitting a four game series with cross-state rival College of Southern Nevada last weekend.

WNC is now 6-2 in SWAC play, one game ahead of CSN and Salt Lake Community College, who is tied for second place at 5-3.

The Wildcats used solid defense to shut down the Coyotes 2-0 in game one, then blasted 10 hits for a 7-4 win in the second. CSN took revenge in the second doubleheader, winning 8-5 in spite of nine Wildcats hits. CSN took the edge in the nightcap, 5-1.

WNC travels to College of Southern Idaho this weekend, before opening its home season on Friday, March 27, at John L. Harvey Field in Carson City.
