Digital Photography to Hang in College Gallery

Technology meets artistic vision in a compelling new student show at Western Nevada College. "Passage," a collection of work by advanced digital photography students, will show Monday, Dec. 10 - Friday, Jan. 11. A reception to meet the artists is set on the opening day, 4:30-6:30 p.m. The public is invited.

Graphic Design Professor Jayna Conkey said the students sought to portray the emotion of photography as a form of communication. "Through the medium of photography, we are capturing the fleeting essence of moments previously overlooked, seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary," she said. "This exhibition reflects things that attracted our attention and interest. It is our goal to engage our audience and share what we were feeling when creating these images. We hope our work stirs something in others as it does in us."

Featured artists include Terry Anderson, Jenny Baker, Richard Belgum, Nanette Bezzone, Scott Damgaard, Mary Erickson. Harry Gammie, David Jarvis, Tori Perez, Shannon Re, Claudia Rios, Anita Shaul, Bethany Surber, Shawn Watson.
