WNC Yerington to Host Publishing Seminar

Want to learn how to get work into print? Wonder what kind of writing will get noticed? Learn this and more from two known writers in a non-credit "How to Publish your Writing" seminar at Western Nevada College Yerington. The Community Education class meets Friday-Saturday, Sept. 14-15, from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m., at the Lyon County Library, 20 Nevin Way.

Instructors Arthur and Kit Knight have been recognized for their works in such publications as "Contemporary Biography," "Contemporary Authors," and "Who's Who in America."
Arthur Knight has taught creative writing for 25 years, written novels, film reviews, and more. Kit Knight has published poems, short stories, and newspaper articles. In the seminar, they will talk about possible markets, as well as how students writing a novel or book-length work of non-fiction can find an agent.

Participants may bring up to five poems, or a maximum of eight pages of prose to each day's workshop. Works will be read aloud and critiqued by the instructors and the group with the idea that the manuscripts will be ready for publication.

The publishing seminar will open with an introductory meeting on Thursday, Sept. 13, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Copper Creek Restaurant, 211 N. Main St.

Cost: $35.
