Good Nutrition Equals Good Health at WNCC Fallon

Western Nevada Community College and the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension have collaborated to provide another Senior College health and wellness class in Fallon. The non-credit, hands-on course will focus on nutritional education and will follow the 2005 USDA Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the MyPyramid Plan.

"Nutrition for Good Health for Seniors," meets Mondays and Wednesdays, May 14-July 18, 9-11 a.m. Instructor Pam Powell and Dietitian Mary Wilson will cover nutritional strategies to help participants learn healthy eating habits. Cooperative Extension Exercise Physiologist Anne Lindsay will provide practical information for incorporating physical activity into daily life.

Cost: $10. There will be no class on May 28 or July 4. This series will be conducted via interactive video between Fallon and the cooperative extension service in Las Vegas. The class is directed toward senior citizens, however, non-seniors are welcome to sign up for the class.
