WNCC to Offer Baby-Sitting Certification Class for Teens

Looking to improve baby-sitting skills or just starting out? Want to learn first aid or how to get help during a child's illness or emergency? Looking for suggestions on how to entertain children of different ages? Western Nevada Community College is offering a baby-sitting certification class for students ages 13-17 on Saturday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

In Baby-Sitting Certification (CFK 1200, Sec. C02), students will learn how to be a responsible baby sitter, including how to interview for the job, how to determine if the job is the right fit, how to supervise children of different ages, and more. The moderator will be Donna Miller from the American Red Cross.

Cost: $50, which includes a 160-page American Red Cross handbook. Students need to bring a brown bag lunch, and a maximum of 16 students will be accepted into the class.
