WNCC Fallon to Offer Computer Classes for Seniors

Seniors will have an opportunity to learn more about computers this spring in two non-credit Senior College classes at Western Nevada Community College. The first class, which begins on March 19, is designed for novices, and the second class is for more experienced users.

Special Topics: Computers, Basics of Using a Computer (CMSV 071C, Call #18740, Sec. F03) will meet Monday-Friday, March 19-23, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in WNCC's Sage Hall, Rm. 102. This hands-on course is for senior students with little or no experience with personal computers. Students will learn basic skills from turning on the computer to writing and saving documents. The enrollment for this course is limited to the first 18 students. Cost: $37.

Special Topics: Computers, Beyond Basics of Computers (CMSV 071C, Call #14206, Sec. F04), will meet Monday-Friday, April 9-13, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Sage Hall, Rm. 103. This hands-on course is for senior students with basic knowledge of personal computers. The class will focus on software applications, and the use of e-mail and the Internet. The enrollment for this course is limited to the first 14 students. Cost: $37.

The WNCC Senior College, based at the Fallon campus, features courses to meet the specific interests and needs of older active adults. A variety of community education and academic classes are offered. Seniors pay a small technology fee for credit classes and, if applicable, lab fees; class registration fees are waived. Non-credit classes provide a 20 percent discount to seniors who are Nevada residents.
