"Music Man" Parades Into Fallon

There'll be toe-tapping and some familiar favorite songs as Western Nevada Community College presents the celebrated musical "The Music Man" at the Churchill County High School Auditorium. Meredith Wilson's musical theatre production plays in five performances Saturday, Nov. 12-19. Tickets are on sale now at WNCC Fallon, 160 Campus Way.

The delightful story of crafty salesman Harold Hill and his plans to swindle the residents of River City, Iowa, by claiming to start a boys' band is full of wit and old-fashioned fun. Winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, a Grammy, and an Academy Award, it features such famous numbers as "Seventy-Six Trombones" and "Trouble" (in River City).

A 51-member cast includes Michael Peters as Professor Hill and Kathleen Archey as Marian Paroo. Director Mary Myers is assisted by Bridget Rigg-Anderson. Music director and pianist is Noreen Swenson, choreographer is Debbie Edwards, costume designs by Anne Hyde, artistic director is Scott Thompson, and set designs by Glen Perazzo.
