"Faces, Voices and Stories"

Celebrate Cowboy Poetry at WNCC

Western Nevada Community College invites the public to a free evening of Wild West cowboy poetry on Thursday, Oct. 20, as part of a new cultural series: "Faces, Voices and Stories - 2005-2006." Nevada cowboy poet Larry Maurice will appear at WNCC's Marlette Hall at 7 p.m. for an evening of poetry, stories and song.

Maurice has spent two decades as a cowboy, horse wrangler and packer in the Eastern Sierra and high deserts of Nevada. He is also a noted cowboy poet who was honored by the Academy of Western Artists with the Will Rogers Award for "Cowboy Poet of the Year" in 2000.

Seating is limited in Marlette Hall, located in the Cedar Building at WNCC Carson City, 2201 West College Parkway.
