Learn About Classical Mythology in Online WNCC Class

Do you have an Achilles heel? Has your computer been invaded by a Trojan horse? Have you been shot by Cupid's arrow? Whether you know a little or a lot about classical mythology, you can learn more about these intriguing myths and what they mean in an online course offered by Western Nevada Community College this fall. Themes of Literature: Classical Mythology (ENG 223, Sec. W01, call #35034) is a three-credit class with no on-campus sessions, so students can participate in discussions and other class activities at times that are convenient for them. The fee for the class is $164.25.

The instructor is Kathy Reynolds, who says the class is for anyone interested in mythology, particularly teachers who discuss the subject in their classrooms.

"It's a fun and interesting topic and participants will have regular online discussions with mythology enthusiasts and other instructors. Most of us know something about classical (Greek and Roman) mythology from common phrases and names that are all around us, from the planets that orbit Earth to famous landmarks."

The WNCC fall semester begins Friday, Aug. 26. Register online at www.wnc.edu.
