Learn How to Find Money for College at WNCC

All three Western Nevada Community College campuses are hosting College Goal Sunday on Sunday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. College Goal Sunday is a free statewide program designed to help students apply for financial aid and chart a course to an affordable college education.

At the two-hour moderated session, financial aid professionals help college-bound families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, which is required by educational institutions nationwide for students seeking financial aid, including grants, loans and scholarships (including Nevada's Millennium Scholarship) and other financial awards.

Organizers suggest that participants research the FAFSA information requirements at www.fafsa.ed.org and obtain a FAFSA signature pin number at www.pin.ed.gov. Students under 23 need to bring their parents, their parents' 2004 income data and their own 2004 income data. Students over 24 need to bring their 2004 income data.
