"Discover WNCC" at Campus Orientations, Tours and Barbecues

Western Nevada Community College is inviting new and prospective students and their families to orientation programs at the Carson City, Fallon and Douglas campuses. "Discover WNCC" events are organized by the college's Student Services Division to increase awareness of WNCC.

In addition to tours and a free barbecue, participants will have a chance to meet current students and faculty and learn about WNCC programs, financial aid opportunities, how to enroll in classes and how to plan for college and career success.

"When you bring students onto campus, you increase their comfort level about the college. A barbecue is a casual social environment that offers a chance to tour campus and meet our staff and students," Outreach Coordinator Sue Richards said.

"Discover WNCC Fallon" will be on Thursday, Aug. 5, at 160 Campus Way; "Discover WNCC Carson City" will be on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 2201 West College Parkway; and "Discover WNCC Douglas" is on Thursday, Aug. 12, at 1680 Bently Parkway South, Minden. All three events are from 5 to 8 p.m. Richards requested that students make reservations with their location choice.

For Fallon, call Kathy McGee.
For Douglas, call Gail Deck.
