NWCCU Accreditation

Western Nevada College is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, the regional accrediting authority for 162 institutions in the Northwest region of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

NWCCU most recently reaffirmed WNC's accreditation in 2011.

Mid Cycle Self Evaluation

As part of the NWCCU seven year evaluation process, WNC was required to complete a thorough self-evaluation. NWCCU explains the process as:
"Conducted in the third year of the seven year cycle, the Mid-Cycle Evaluation is intended to ascertain an institution’s readiness to provide evidence (outcomes) of mission fulfillment and sustainability in the Year Seven."

Comprehensive Self-Study

In March, 2010, WNC completed a comprehensive self-study in preparation for a full-scale decennial evaluation visit May 3-5.

Current NWCCU Report under New Standards

WNC submitted its first self-evaluation report under the new standards March 1, 2011. The Year One Report addresses Standard One: Mission, Core Themes, and Expectations.
